FED:Fireblight will arrive in Aust: Joyce
Nationals Senate leader BARNABY JOYCE has warned that fire blight will definitely arrive
in Australia, if there isn't sufficient control over imported New Zealand apples.
NZ apples are on their way to Australia for the first time in 90 years, after an import
ban was lifted on Wednesday following an all-clear from Biosecurity Australia.
Senator JOYCE fears the decision threatens the health of Australia's apple and pear
orchards, saying it could mean the end of those industries.
