NSW: Man in critical condition after being rescued from surf

SYDNEY, Dec 22 AAP - A man who was rescued from surf in Sydney's eastern suburbs yesterday
was in a critical condition in hospital today, police said.

A police spokesman said the 27-year-old Canadian man was found face down in the surf at
Bondi Beach at about 7.30pm.

It was believed the man's face had been submerged for about five minutes, the spokesman
said.

He said the man was pulled out of the water, resuscitated at the scene and flown by rescue
helicopter to Prince of Wales hospital where he remained in a critical condition.
